A family holiday works best when there is a mix of play, fresh air and easy days out. Mulroy Bay Resort gives families a peaceful base in Kerrykeel, with on-site facilities and plenty to explore across the Fanad Peninsula and north Donegal.

Play at the resort

Children can enjoy the playground, while the tennis court and basketball court offer space for active family time. These simple facilities make it easier to keep younger guests entertained between trips around the county.

Take a scenic family drive

The Mulroy Drive follows a 38 km route around the bay, with viewpoints at Kerrykeel, Kerrykeel Pier and other stops around the inlet. Choose a few stopping points rather than trying to rush the full route, and leave time for photographs or a picnic.

Try a short woodland walk

The Woodquarter Forest Trail near Milford is a 1.1 km moderate loop listed by Sport Ireland. It can be a manageable option for many families, but footwear, weather and each child’s ability should always be considered before setting out.

Visit Fanad Lighthouse or Glenveagh

Fanad Lighthouse offers a visitor experience and guided tours, while Glenveagh National Park has walking options for different ages and abilities. Check current opening times, tour requirements and trail information on the attractions’ official websites before travelling.

Mulroy Bay Resort does not operate equipment rental or organised water trips, so families should book directly with a suitable provider and confirm age limits, safety requirements and weather arrangements.
